Welcome to the Digital Applications class.  Computer literacy is essential to success in your education, career and personal life.  To that end, the Career and Technical Education Department at BHS is committed to making this course relevant, interesting and fun.  To ensure a productive and great school year, students will need a positive attitude and a desire to work. It's your job!

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is designed to help you become an Academic Achiever and Critical Thinker.  It also allows you to understand information processing concepts necessary to gather, create, and analyze data as well as to function in a rapidly changing technological, global environment.  Students will demonstrate aptitude by performing the multiple tasks required to process data effectively and produce usable information.  Concepts and skills taught will include:

Cooperation:  You are expted to follow classroom rules, show respect for everyone in the class and for the classroom and its contents, be responsible and accountable for your own behavior, and display a positive attitude toward learning.  Always follow BHS’s Academic Honesty Policy and District Technology Policy.  (May affect citizenship grade and/or total points).
Class Participation:  You are expected to provide meaningful input, ask pertinent questions during class discussion, and actively participate in small group activities.  (May affect citizenship grade and/or total points).

MISSING ASSIGNMENTS AND TESTS:
It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with the teacher to make up work missed due to an excused absence.  All make up work and tests must be completed within the 5 week grading period that the work was assigned.

C      79%  - 70%                        ·Homework            ·Final Exam
D      69%  - 60%                        ·Group Work                 
F      59%  - 0%

ATTENDANCE POLICY:  Please refer to the Burbank High School Tardy and Attendance procedures in your  school planner.  Procedures will be strictly followed.
EXTRA CREDIT POLICY:  Extra Credit or Bonus Work is available.  However, students must finish the regular assignments first.  No big lumps of extra credit work will be accepted at the end of the semester!

DISCIPLINE POLICY:  Discipline issues will be handled through the following steps:  first offense, warning; second offense, call home; third offense, referral.  Extreme discipline problems will be dealt with immediately by the administration.  Always follow the School’s Academic Honesty Policy and District.s Acceptable Use of Technology Policy.
